My phototron dwc/low pressure aero hybrid

My phototron dwc/low pressure aero hybrid

A few months ago I pulled my old 36” tall three-flouro 120-watt model out of mothballs.

After many tweaks my science fair project is ready.

My growing vessel is a three-gallon stainless steel stockpot with six 2” perimeter sites with two gallons of solution.

Two plain air stones take half of the capacity of a petco 4-outlet air pump.

A 100 gph water pump with just a simple straight up ½ pvc manifold with just one end cap sprays three good size piss streams horizontally against the vessel. A simple timer going one hour on and then one hour off 24/7 controls this pump.

Lighting is the three 40watt side tube flouros with four 26w cfls in an adjustable hanging fixture with three more 26watt cfls held horizontally in a power strip with a pie plate reflector at the top of the unit all controlled by a HD AC timer. 300 watts total=20k lumens.

Ventilation is provided by two 2” cpu fans mounted into one of the small side panels one three inch case fan as a top mounted exhaust fan all powered by a 90watt cpu power supply.

Humidification is an old table top humidifier piped thru a small side panel with 2” swimming pool hose right at the top of the vessel and is controlled by another simple light duty timer.

Nutrient schedule is based on the Lucas low light formulation with proprietary additions.

Any and all comments are welcome.

HI, I have a phototron and if you are still interested in corresponding, I would like to talk to you about growing in it.
I am 5 weeks into my second grow and have learned quite a bit about how to manage the growing in the unit.

What type of watering system are you using? I use the automatic watering system with mine and it consistently over-waters and kills the plants. Any help would be apprieciated.
