getting rid of algae

i blocked all the light leaks, cleaned the res, have added peroxide over the last two days and still have algae. next step might be chlorine? suggestions

How much h2o2? Two days might not be enough.

Yea I hate that algae I had Issues with it Flushed with peroxide Flushed the pots / I used 2 tablespoons per gallon and in 4 days came back again. Messed up my PH wild swings,,,
Just make sure you block all light I was also asking as useing peroxide in the tub as a prentative i am using 1 tsp per gallon . Was told to up it to 1 tbs per gallon now so that is what i am Going to use now ,,,,,no more algae for me >>>>

The plants could not recover from my peroxide bath 3 times more peroxide at each time think i wound up going with 1/4 cup per gallon .I killed it but was to late for the plants . Bleach will kill it but will also damage the plants .. For the tub it is ok but the rockwool and the rocks need to soak for at least 20 minutes ..
All light was blocked Now and still came back think it was living in the rockwool and the rocks. I had it so bad the roots rotted and I trashed 6 easyryders Good luck

1/2 Tablespoon both times of 35 % peroxide per gallon. Today makes the the 3rd dose.

what is the water temp? algae wont grow if the waters nice and cold. I used to have this problem all the time, now I just keep 4 frozen 1 liter pepsi bottles, put 2 in your rez and that will last you all day. just switch them out every morning when you get up. Ive been useing this method for almost 2 years now with not a single worry bout algae!!!

water temp is about 68 doesnt get over 71, i'll drop it down a bit a see what happens

That's right about where mine is and I have no algee, but last round I did. The only thing I have done different is when I change out res, I completly drain all water and put in fresh out of the tap water and let that run for about an hr I think the chlorine in the water might be stopping it and I like to wash the salts off . Then drain res water and add your ro water and nutes. Its been working so far with no ill effects

i generally let my water set out to get rid of the chlorine , but right now it might be better to have it in there..algae is a plant too can't do too much to it that won't kill the rest of my plants
