Unhappy Need help, getting frustrated!
Ok.. Here is the deal.
I have looked through all the other threads and most the google searches I could find, but I am still at a loss. I keep getting either grey slime on the submerged roots or lately black goo (not really slime, not dead plant matter).

Here's the data:
6 site tub, insulated/light proof.
10 gallons, was unfiltered now back to filtered (city water, PuR filter)
Res temp 68-75F
Botanicare Pure Blend (bloom, grow, karma), half dose (actual = 1TB/GAL, i am doing 1/2 TB/GAL) but usually not all at once. With these ladies now in the tub its only half bloom nutes.
Ambient temp= 70's off, 80's (85 tops)
400w HPS
I have added H202 and that failed. I have added and cleaned/sterilized with Physan20 and then used Hygrozyme to rid anything dead, then cleaned again and then h202 treatment. I have seriously tried just about every combo you can then derive from that.
I have even tried doing nothing- no nutes, no h202.
I also use several ice packs if the water seems to be to warm.. Never gets below 65 if for very long.
The only thing I have left is this:
1. Forget it! Rockwool was a known sucess in my situation.
2. Add Dutch Master and see if some BB's will help.
3. Something I may have missed, and will be suggested

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read/suggest/post. I really have looked around, as far as I can tell it seems to be a bacterial thing- maybe pythium or something but I am not sure.
I love the bubbleponics method- it worked absolute wonders in my veg area but under the HPS it is failing. Thats why I think its a temperature issue and the temps are just right for either bacterial growth or algal growth, but i have never done this so I lack the experience to diagnose and treat/prevent this problem...
The roots look horrible, not growing fast at all. Feel like i keep hitting a wall!

If you've got the cash man invest in a rez chiller. consant rez temps of 68F mean no algae at all and highly oxygenated water too. if you're in the states have a look at a product called the ice probe - i've read in many other posts it's a really good buy. You can't get them where I'm from though and so I ended up spending like 150 bucks on an aquarium chiller off ebay - it has worked wonders for me and is probably one of my best investments.

Also, have you tried using sensizym or cannazym or one of those types of products?

sorry i didnt respond quicker- thats the exact problem it seems I kept having, except there was always some sort of goo.
There was one thing I had totally missed- I stopped using filtered water! I was filtering our tap water with pur 3 stage and those really seem to do the trick.
I moved them into rockwool because of the damage- they probably wont survive but who knows. Meanwhile I am going to try to get my room temps lowered as i will constantly be fighting physics and heat transfer- water will always reach equilibrium with surrounding temps.
Good luck though! I gave up for now.

i taped my rez with 1/8 insolation tape, and removed 2 23w 2700k bulbs, now my temp is 69in and 77out it helped. just wash the roots with pure h2o2 %3 the roots love it. also i bought some hydrozyme and added that makes the root rot go away and helps the roots

here a pic after i cut the roots down (ill never do that again ill just deal with it) and got eveything managable
