Whats up guys this is my first post , just joined the site. I have been searching the site for days looking for a good tutorial/write-up for the stealth hydro DWC Bucketeer kit. Is there a good one Im missing on the site or one you guys know of from a different site? Im looking to setup a dwc system in the next month.
Thanks

what i suggest (an what i personally do) is buy 3 or 5 gal black buckets and net lids, commercial air pumps, air stones, hose and go check the DWC tutorial in the FAQ. GL

Thanks for your reply man, the diy sounds like the best route for me to go. Im a little cramped for space vertically so going with a 3 gallon bucket instead of 5 would help a lot. Is the three gallon any different to maintain than a 5 gallon?

Negative my man. Exactly the same. Just less water in the res. Virtually any container with a lid can be used for dwc. From a Rubbermaid container to a Tupperware container. If light cant get in and the bottom is water proof then its usable.

ya here you go:
step 1: parts: bucket netcup hydroton airpump airline airstone plant starter water meter nutrients/pH control, etc. step 2: starting start plant, once plant has leaves, 100-200ppm nutrients step 3: putting in bucketeer assemble bucket, netcup in bucket, hydroton in netcup, plant starter in hydroton so that light isn't hitting it if its RW, air pump to air line to air stone/diffuser at bottom of bucket fill bucket to bottom of netcup with water and ppm adjust with regular vegetative nutrients to 250-300ppm and gradually increase step 4: aggressive veg, ppm of around 800-900. pH should always be 5.5-6.5. step 5: flower around 950-1100+ or so tips: keep res topped, measure solution strength often, get hydro nutrients which are pH adjusted, wrap your bucket in foil tape, and get nice big netcups like 6-10 inches.

Ok cool, I figured the 3 gallon would be different because it obviously holds less water. Wasn't sure if it would be harder to keep all the levels right or if there would be any evaporation issues.
& Thanks alot for that write-up dbo ![]() Also, if im going to build my own system, would there be any advantage to build it bubbleponics instead of dwc? |

A tutorial on how to put together a five gallon dwc grow bucket. ![]() Buy all of this here. http://www.americanag.com/index.php Most items = free shipping. First buy this Put that in one of these. Five gallon Bucket. Lowes bucket's will work. Three dollars. Then buy a medium. (hydroton here) I suggest going to lowes or home depot. Find recycled tire mulch (10$ for life) or lava rock or pebbles . Any rock or rocklike substance will work. Hydroton is 10 dollars for 4 liters or so. eBay or the same hydro store as above has it. Cheap. Then buy a 5 watt airpump (12$ on eBay) at either a hydro store or a aquarium store. 10 bucks or so. The formula for airpumps in DWC is one watt of air pump power per gallon of water in bucket. Then buy an airstone (1.00$) or or an airtubeHere is a killer deal http://www.americanag.com/proddetail...PU1531&cat=138. (free shipping) Then buy the flora micro hardwater, flora grow, and flora bloom from the same hydro store. Look in the nutrient category under GENERAL HYDRO. This is the stuff the astronausts use. It will last many, many grows. eBay has a 12 dollar tripack that will last one or two. Pay attention to bottle size, eBay=caveat emptor. (use yer head, lol). Here (11$)= http://www.americanag.com/proddetail.php?prod=HY208 ![]() here (11$)= http://www.americanag.com/proddetail.php?prod=HY209 ![]() here (11$)= http://www.americanag.com/proddetail.php?prod=HY207 ![]() Feed 15 ml grow, 10 ml micro, 5 ml bloom in veg per gallon or RO water. Feed 0 ml grow, 8 ml micro, and 16 ml bloom in flower per gallon in RO water. If under hid lights. Under cfl feed 0-5-10 in flower. If you want to use tapwater buy this (11$) http://www.hydroasis.com/hy/productd...product=flora- micro-hardwater This is the hardwater/tapwater version of Micro. It works like a charm. You will need to start your seeds. Soak them in water for 24 hours first. In the dark. Then place them in these. Rapid Rooters (12$ for 30 pcs). Then right into your system with a plastic clear cup over the Rapid Rooter for humidity. Also break a peice of one and place it over the hole. This is so their is some dark for the seed until she sprouts. Here http://www.americanag.com/proddetail.php?prod=PO121 this is for rapid rooters. As always it does pay to shop around. Also you need airline tubing from the aqaurium store for three dollars. Colored would be better. that should be it.
