Hi all. I've been doing alot of reading on this bubbleponics system and I'm thinking about giving it a try. At the moment my only question is about the pump. I have 3 powerheads lying around from my old aquarium set up. Can I use these? or do I have to buy a different one?

Here's a pic of 2 of them. Both have no markings so I can't tell the brand. The smaller one has 1140 etched on the top.

Sure you could.. usinng some timers... varying on the system you might wanna use your old air pump and air stone too to ad extra oxygen in the water

you need air pumps to do DWC so yes you want air pumps and air diffusers are best I find, stones will clog after short amounts of time and discs can be real noisy.

if those are pumping air you can do DWC, if they are water pumps you can do recirculating NFT or drip with them.

from the look of it those definitely pump water, so you will need to add air pumps for DWC.
