    Default Rapid rooters in DWC/BUBBLER

I have been following rosemans advice and setup for DWC and have a simple Question. Will rapid rooters (GH) work as well as rockwool. Someone gave me a bag of 50 for free. I have seen them work well in other types of hydro systems. any bubbleheads out there .

I have three sproutlings in rapid rooters going now in my bubbleponics system. So far so good, but its early. I'll keep you posted! They do VERY well for germinating seeds. Get yourself a propogation tray with dome.

I've heard rapid rooters are good but haven't seen them. I've also heard they can be permanent in a dwc grow but they look (in pictures) so pointed on the bottom that I wonder how there is enough room for roots to grow through as the root mass gets larger. I was going to use them in place of rockwool to start a germinated seed in a 4 plant tote setup but am hesitant for that reason. Are people trimming some of the bottom away or what?

From what i can see they are about the same diameter top and bottom with a slight taper to the bottom. Here is a picture of the ones i am using . I think i am gonna try them a couple of friends use them in a flood/drain setup with good results from seed to harvest. One friend of mine said the roots pop thru everywhere sides/bottom because they slowly breakdown to nothing. I will also keep all interested parties updated as to whether on not tey are worth the time. Thanks for the info and opinions every one who replied.

I was thinking of starting them in the pots in the bubbler with the circulation pump watering the bottm half slowly to keep em moist or maybe just turn the pump on for about 5 mins a day till they germinate. I have some small clear domes from an areogarden that should fit just right over the rapid rooter. So what do you think ?

I popped 12 seeds in the rapid rooter plugs yesterday. today 4 have broken surface and have leaves producing.

One is Blue Satellite X Killer Queen... a seed that was buried deep in some thick medicine that i picked up, so I'm guessing that it's female, with possible hermie tendencies. The other 11 are bagseed, so we'll see how they go.

I put the seeds on a wet papertowel / inverted plate DIY germing station, and when they cracked, put the roots in down, coverning the holes back up.

Depending on how the Blue Satellite X Killer Queen comes out, I'll clone her, because that was some good meds!
