What's up people.

So This is my third real attempt at DWC, and my first real attempt with some reall lighting.

Setup:

• DWC
• 400W HPS/MH Ballast
• Floating Styrofoam platform
• Hydroton
• Started from Seed

Nutes:

• FF Grow, Bloom

The plant is just 2 weeks old from seed.
So far the plant seems healthy.

Nah, I just took notice of how a dwc functioned.

1. need a tank (Pet store 10g Fish Tank)
2. something to keep the lights out of the tank.(Spray Paint, Tar Paper, Black Construction Paper, ect)
3. Air pump (seek out local pet store)
4. Air stone (again pet store)
5. Make a Plant platform (local hardware store, seek out styrofoam insulation. Cut to fit in tank, Cut holes for net pots. Probly do up to 3 plants at 3 inch pots)
6. Lighting (CFLs are cheap, reflectors and sockets are cheap at your local hardware store)

7. Shelving (local hardware store, pretty cheap if you get the plastic)

Are you going to veg entirely in the styrofoam? Flower?

Yes, there is enough room for the roots down in the tank for this plant to go all the way through harvest with out transplanting it.

I wouldn't be concerned about the roots having enough room. I was thinking about it being top heavy and not having enough support for the stalk and plant; it'll fall over.

I have that problem now with my 3-inch net pot sitting in the lid of a 5 gallon bucket. The opening is a perfect fit for the net pot and the roots have already filled and taken the shape and size of the 5 gallon bucket, but the plant keeps falling over. Looks like I'll have to tie it up or get another GH Waterfarm to flower it in.

The styrofoam won't hold a plant of any decent size.

well acutally, I won't have that issue because of the shelving I have the tank setup on, has another shelf above it.

I can use that to tie up the plant.
