make your own Rooting hormone

Cut some willow branches (All willow species produce this natural rooting hormone), into 2" or 4" long pieces (enough pieces to fill a bowl).

Put the willow cuttings into a big kettle (or pot) on the stove, fill with water (all cuttings should be are covered by water). Turn on minimum heat setting, cover with a lid, and leave on low (but do not boil) for 2 hours. Then turn off heat and leave kettle covered for 12 hours.

After the mixture has cooled for 12 hours, the water should be a dark brown. Strain out the water, and discard the branches. Pour the mixture into a container with a plastic top with holes pre-made, and just drop your cuttings in. Let the clones sit in the hormone for 12 to 24 hours (thus allowing the cuttings to fully absorb the rooting hormones), then plant into your medium.

Use as much rooting hormone as you require, then discard the used portion. The unused hormone can be stored in the ice box for years

lol Interesting but Im one of thos lazy weed smokers so if Id have to like walk to a tree and like do stuff ..ahhh wheres my clonex bottle lol intersting stuff though in case Im lost but have 1 last ganja seed which gives me a perfect mother that I must propagate into my own forest of highly useable and smokable hemp to survive the harsh unknowns of wherever and stuff...puff~~~ what happened??

did you know that the bark of it holds salicylic acid, the base for natural ASA so if video is right about the fact that ASA can promote more females to pop from seeds, mogies lil tea party could be good for this too

Does this willow rooting hormone seem to work better or worse then commercial rooting hormones?

so i tried this and every thing i put in it dies lol i collected the new yellow shoots, i boiled it for 2 hours let it cool for 12 and the refrigerated it then dipped some clones in some for 12 hours under light then planted no roots ever tell me if i did some thing wrong ...... id like to see this work

dont boil it! Mogie's is the first time I ever heard about heating it at all. I have used willow for years by simply cutting small branches to about the size of a pencil,filling a mason jar w/ it then adding water. let sit for a day or 2. pour the water into a cup and sit the fresh cutting in it for a few hrs. cuttings then go into rockwool @ use the willowwater to water till its gone.

I think any willow will produce the hormones. Try a google search for 'native willow northern california coast' (insert where you live) and check out the images that come up.
Willows are great rooters themselves - we wanted some trees to grow quickly at the back of our property, and cut a bunch of branches, stuck them in the ground (no care, no water) - every single one rooted quickly and is now a decent sized little tree.

I see you have some background with willow growth hormones, so perhaps you know if it's any good to use willow infusion instead of regular water when watering the plants. Will is make them grow more roots of veg faster? Or is does hormone only work for cloning?
