DIY 4oz. minimum yield grow box - Page 11

so, i'm thinking of setting this thing up.

seems easy enough, and 'userfriendly' is exactly what i need.

but i was thinking. has anyone taken a design like this but instead of planting into pots, just line the whole bottom container with soil...

it would be an indoor grow with an outdoor feel (for the plant i'm thinking).
it might allow for deeper and better root development which migh produce better yeild.

i know that if males appear that might be an issue, but you can always just cut it down at the base and the roots shouldn't remain an issue.

plus i can make small drill holes in the container to allow for water release....

please let me know as i'm thinking that it's a good idea.

yeah came bulbs does different light spectrums, you wanna throw as many of these together(cool for veg, and warm for flower)as you can without causing a fire hazard

what does it mean to have a different light spectrum?

also does 150 watt equiv actually mean it doesn't say 150 on the package?

One has nothing to do with the other. Spectrum represents "mimicking", in the simplest definition if you will, the power of the sun throughout the season. This is why the HPS spectrum is best for flowering since the "reds" are more prevalent in sunlight during this period when the natural growing season would typically come to an end.

what about the Metal Halide and summer you cant have a harvest without a vegetative growth cycle.
