    Default Standalone DWC Bucket

Sprinkler head and 4" cylindrical airstone on.

    Off.

Some rocks from the front yard. These are plentiful in the San Bernardino County...

Put the Air stone and grommet through the little kids head on the drowning warning. The grommet you need is almost exactly the size of the kids head. I got it when I picked up the netpot at the local hydroshop. They have a homebrewing section.

Heated a knife on the stove and slowly melted the plastic until the grommet fit. The melted plastic also helped snug it in once it cooled.

I like the idea behind the rocks. Ever use them before?

No, I use hydroton. My brother is using this at his home, we built it together over the weekend (took like an hour mostly cause we couldn't find something to cut teh pipe). He is going to test it with a Bellpepper seed.

No, the water level is below it. I don't understand why that would be low. And I didn't really drill it. I melted it lol.

I currently have a DWC with a S.A.G.E seedling in it. I have slightly less than 4 gallons of water in it, which I believe would go over that hole.

I'll admit that I am a predominately soil guy. I am newer to hydroponics.

We only filled the level of water to the third ring on the sprinkler and the water is well below that. We might have to put a bunch more water in there, we will see. If the water does go over the hole it shouldn't be an issue with the rubber grommet and if needed a little silicone. I could probably have put the hole all the way on the bottom

I've seen people use pea gravel and have good results. So your rocks should. May be too heavy for the seed to push through. Idk? Interesting still...
