Actually, using skim and plant waste, you covert some other compounds into THC.
If on the other hand you use proper buds brimming with THC already, the process will turn a lot of the THC into Delta-5-THC which is much more hallucinogenic.

I'm a big fan of BHO. Its so easy and cheap to do. Here's my home made extractor. Holds 5 ounces of dried, ground shake. End up with 5 grams of honey oil.

Been doing this for awhile now, I've always just used pvc but stainless steel or glass would be best. Copper is supposed to be worse than pvc, at least that what some people say, so who knows. My tube holds around 3 oz ground packed and i have a metal sceen in the bottom of the end cap then just 1 coffee filter.

As far as yeild I see about a gram to an ounce of GROUND trim leaves, some fan leaves (ones that have any noticipal crystals on the stems) and you need a large can of butane for each gram to. So for a 3 oz tube it takes at least 2 cans. A BIG THING FOR QUALITY! When you use leaf and popcorn buds and GRIND it you get more black oil, like in my pic. If you just CRUSH up the leaf and lightly herb grind the bud and do the extraction you will get see though beutifull amber honey oil even off shit, just not much of it. If you just use bud you will also get this beutifull amber oil. I usually run though once with just crushed leaves then take it out grind it and go again. stems seem to be fine to, good ones.

For butane Ive use cheap and expensive and can't really tell a quality difference but it seems the more expensive stuff gets a little more, probly just filled fuller than the cheap stuff. The mirror test is nice, spray some butane on a mittor and wait a few secs, their should be allmost no residue and NO smell. But as for health effects of cheap and expensive butane who knows. Also the hotter the water bath the better during extraction and I like to stick mine in the frezer for awhile afterwards.

Oh and here in the northwest usa its $25 a gram for the darker stuff and $35+ for the golden

sounds cheap compared to elsewhere.

Oh and using a soda bottle is definitally creative and super cheap and I NEVER would of thought of that... but cmon 2 bucks for some pvc, its gotta be better.

that's how mine is except instead of plastic caps on the ends i use a rubber stopper in one end, then 2 fine mesh coffe filters wraped around the other end, and a paper coffee filter over that and clamp it down w/ a stainless steel hose clamp....but imo it's best to spring for a honeybee extractor....it's what im going to do next go around w/ the bho

A simple question folks. Is there an equation to calculate how much butane to use for a given amount of herb? I know there's lots of variables but there seems to be lots of different size cans of butane. Saw Ronson 2.75 oz cans, but that looks real small. Saw a 7.8 oz can in a post here. Saw a 300 ml can today. What size cans do you use?

the big cans that I am talking about are all around 300ml, which is 10.6 oz. like I said I use 2 of those to 3oz of grinded. 1 can to just crushed, cause it only fits around an oz, thats to get the golder shizit. Ive never used small cans... Around here the good butane at headshops is $5, the cheap shit at quickie-marts and cash king is $2.49. You can get cases of Colbri and other high quality online at good prices. BTW I did the mirror test in the last week with Good brands Vector and Colbri, and the cheap shit which is "Mega" around here. Definitally more residue and smell with the cheap shit.

I am also confirming that I am getting more yeild of oil from the better brands.

I used a 5 week old plant too. 3 weeks veg, 2 weeks flower. Yeah, I know that's too short a time for veg but it was as big as I wanted it. Or at least as bushy as I want them in my limited space. I'm using a 400 watt HPS for flower.

Damn I'm stoned. Didn't think it would work this well... really trippy kinda stoned.
