For higher quality ISO hash you need higher percentage alcohol, but why pay extra for 20% more when you can make 100% alcohol almost free. You only need 4 things for this project, 70% (or any %) ISO alcohol, salt, a jar or bottle, and some other container like a cup (large stem not required ).



STEP ONE: Put your alcohol and salt into your bottle. I used 300ml of alcohol with about 10 grams of salt. Basically you want to add some salt and shake it and add more salt until it won't dissolve anymore.



Once it won't take any more salt let it set for about 10 minutes until there is a thick cloudy layer at the bottom. That layer is salt water and you do not want that in your hash.


Now that everything is separated out you want to pour the alcohol out into another container making sure to get none of the salt water into it. Once you have most of the alcohol store it in a sealable container until you need it to make hash.

very cool, i remember doing an experiment like this in high school lol.

The stores around my house sell 99% iso for only like 30-40 cents more a bottle, but next time I can't find any i'll try this.

awesome, i just bought some 91% from walmart and i can turn it into 100% now, just gotta wait for my new scale in the mail.

you don't need to wait for a scale. you can start mixing in small amounts of salt, like 1/4 teaspoon, into the alcohol. if the salt dissolves completely, add a little more. keep doing this until the salt does not dissolve when you add more.

the salt dissolves into the water in the iso alcohol solution and then the salt/water solution sinks to the bottom creating a layer of alcohol over a layer of salt/water

Like Arss said you can just add a bit at a time until it won't disolve. From what I saw once you think it isn't going to take any more keep going until there is salt crystals on the bottom. As long as you only pour off the ISO it shouldn't matter.
