My little veg cabinet holds 48 so I could do a split harvest of 45 twice as often. But what I would like to do if it doesn't turn into a chore is stagger each bin so I harvest ever week and a half to two weeks. That will give it enough time time to cure before the next batch and none of it is too big of a job. It makes for less curing space too. And if I run 4 different strains plus one for breeding I get a pretty good variety too.

OK so I am waiting on the drill to recharge. so I can drilll the other 88 3.5" holes in the bin tops.
That makes this a good time to answer questions and do a partial post of today's chores. As most of you could tell that frame would never stand if the bins were all full of water. But fortunately it will not have to as they are designed to collect the runoff and drain back into the reservoir. I thought I was going to use another bin that I had already but it just barely fits under the stand and would be troublesome getting it out if I needed to work inside it. I will look and see if I can get a couple of smaller ones(shorter) and manifold them together to double the capacity. The 50 gal fiberglass reservoir at the local shop was $200 and I just don't see that kind of expense when I could do it for under $25. So anyway here is me drilling the drains with a 1 1/4" wingtip bit. You need the one with teeth right out on the edge and you have to go slow and be careful so as to make a "round" hole not just a big hole. I took a photo of the second one I did. ![]() ![]() There are two rubber washers that come with the drain. One goes inside and one outside. Remember to get drain screens to keep the bigger pieces out of the return lines. Push the drain through from inside and put the second washer on and tighten down the nut. ![]() And the other side. ![]() Add the drain screen. ![]() Next attach the 3/4" ID (Inside Diameter) black vinyl tubing to the bottom of the drain and route under the stand to the reservoir. Black is more costly but keeps the water from growing things you never planted. Use some large wire ties to keep everything neat and out of the way. It also keeps the kinks out of the lines so it drains well. ![]() ![]() Hopefully it all meets up at the res and a little bit into it. I will be using a 25 micron fabric bag filter to make sure everything stays out of the pump. |

Ripz from Potpimp.com left me a PM on his board that he sent the C99 beans out yesterday.
They seem to be a very good group of people to do biz with though as they say "The proof is in the beans" or something like that. I also got a email from Nirvana that they were shipping my Papaya and Northern Lights. It had been about a month since I had placed the order and thought I was one of the unlucky ones as they seem to have mixed reviews. I will say this they do not communicate well and if they were out of what I ordered why would they accept the order in the first place. All around I believe there are too many other choices to have to accept poor business skills. x-posted to seed bank reviews. |

It had been a while but yes I have seen these videos before. It is amazing that they get that kind of production without any training or trimming. The mold issue is a very real problem growing things that close. I try to manicure the plants so that 30-50% of the lower stem bare. Hopefully this gives enough airflow to prevent mold. They are growing in a more northern climate than I and don't have the extreme heat issues that make summer growing tough. It is just starting to get nice here. I hope to get a good quality grow out of this setup. |

Looks great so far! A couple things you might want to consider is one try and attach your drains coming out of the bins into a PVC pipe then one tube into your reservoir so you don't have all those low spots in the drain lines holding water. Also a big picnic cooler the kind with the wheels on one end might make a good reservoir if it will fit under your bins they are very convienent for moving around and draining. I cannot wait to see the rest keep up the good work!.
