this is really crafty.. i have two questions

1) what's the ducting on the right used for?
2) for others looking at this cfl setup, would this system be better utilized if the top bulbs were on the buttom and the bottom bulbs were mounted above? (pointed down of course)

Hello how is everyone? Not to be a post hijacker but I have a question about growing in a grow box using cfl's using that same light fixture. Looks like we've been watching the same videos. First off let me say I'm a mmj patient in So. Cali. My grow box is 4ft. x 2ft. I have a bubba Kush x Og clone growing on a 18/6 lighting system using a single 120watt clf. This is my first time growing and all i know is from books and from outdated youtube videos. Im slowly working on improving my grow box and getting better lights. I'm looking into getting t5? So if you can offer me any addvice please help me out.

well thanks guys yeah the only thing id add is a fan blowing rite on the bulbs, thats what the vent hose was hooked up to but that was changed a lil bit later those big ones put off the heat as for the bigger bulbs on bottom im kinda doin a test with that with using these as side lights and only have the side lights basically a small vertical gro i say kinda cus the new box is going to shit heat wise im reworking it rite now so i got the one i started with these the other ones turned out great
heres the out come using these as top lights and having 6 2 watters on the side

The lights on the bottom are not doing you any good. The plants leaves photosynthesize only on the top. looking good though

those are called side lighting my brother they are to provide light to the lower buds that are on the plant and they actually did very good yes the larger lights up top did the most but side lighting is only for supplemental use but that grows over new box new setup new style ill post up at some point

good job im using cardboard rapped in mylar for my reflector with al kins of b***s*** y adapters and other crap my box would hold two of these up top with some nicely placed 26 & 23 watters around the side for flowering this looks great.thanks and + rep to you and the guy from u-tube lol im heading out to lowes now..peace pot prosperity
