If you are going to make that size they make a 3' by 6' flood table for about $160.00. A stand for that, res etc. is much easier than building the whole thing. I only did this because the size I needed to fit my space wasn't availablle. I bought a 3' by3' table for the mothers I have and I like it better than what I built, there isn't anyway you can duplicate the draining on the pre-made tables for less than you can buy them. This would also give you some flexibility with the width on a stand, it could be a few inches inside of the dimensions of the table and still work. The thing you need to make sure of for this large of a table is the size of the reservoir. You would need about twice the size of mine which would make it above 50 gallons and those are expensive. The less expensive ones will not take the water pressure they will begin to leak around spots where the res meets the floor. If I were going to make a table that size I would consider building the res and a stand for a pre-made table. VV

That is some sage advice right there.

All I need to make a 3X6 foot table is:

1 4x8 sheet of 1/2 inch plywood. ($8.00)
4 2x4x8's ($2.17 each, so ~$9)
and 1/2 of a 12x7 sheet of pondliner. ($8.17 per 12x1 so X7 = $57.19/2 = $28.60)
1 Sink drain fitting plastic ($6)

$8+$9+$29+6 = $52.00

I dont need them as complex as your, you used really good wood, thick wood, ect.

Just wanted to show it can be done on the cheap.

Oh and add extra for 4 wheels and casters.

Well that is interesting. Im would assume you are going to need a pump and a resevoir, I suppose you could hand water them, and a set of flood and drain fittings, about $10.00 for the pair. Of course if your liner is only 12' long cut in 1/2 it won't be big enough to go up the sides of the table to seal it, I guess you could just get a big enough res to catch the water that leaks all around the outside of the table and if you stop by my house I can give you the liner for the bottom of the table so you will have adequate drainage.
you would probably be better served by buying 12' long boards for the sides and the end since you can make two sides and four ends out of 2 with out throwing away a foot for every cut you make
I built two of the tables out of a waterbed frame my next door neighbor was throwing away. The figures I posted are for what it cost me for buying all off the items for a table and as meant to be a guide. But thanx for trying to school me about how cheap you can almost build a table. VV

True My table will actually be Like 5 feet by 3 each so I have 6 inches to for the wall on the liner.

Although they also sell this liner meant for under showers, but it only comes in 5 foot wide ($6 per foot) or 4 foot wide ($5 per foot).

Also I planned to used the extra 2 feet of all the two by fours for the LEGS!!!

My table are for handwatered plants, I just need something for the plants to sit in, that has a drain.

I dont even really need any kind of matting for drainage.

Should be all gravy....

Just gonna stick a tub under neath with 4 hoses from the drains running to it.

Although maybe a pump to a drain in the basement would work as well....

Again thanks for the ideas... Building them today.

No it is for others to see when they click this thread!!

What is wrong with adding to the Thread alternate versions of a DIY table??

YouTube - Harold & Kumar ( Is This Your Special Bush )

This thread inspired me to make my own, and at a much cheaper cost, so I thought I would share it, why are you getting all huffy about it??

Do I really have to start a new thread just to share the info...

Give a girl a break....
