Vaporizers are possibly the best things to smoke out of, and is the most recommended methods of smoking for medical marijuana. Its much safer on your lungs, since you dont combus the molecules, causing the release of more carcinoges, gets rid of much tar, and doesnt make you choke. Also, it allows more THC to be inhaled, since instead of incenerating much of it, you just release it to the air.

First off, SWIM would like to thank Goosie for the idea. His is the most common and simplistic.

Materials:
Light bulb
Bottle Cap (size depends on size of light bulb...)
Knife
Straw
Tape (Electrical is best)

Procedure:

1) First, take the light bulb and your knife. Cut off the top of the metal part of the light bulb with the knife (or saw i guess... just be EXTREMLY CAREFUL! seriously... SWIM doesn't want people getting cut badly because of his tutorial! take your time and do it slowly and carefully)


2) When you have that metal part cut off, then empty out the inside. Take out the metal stuff inside that makes the lightbulb make light... when your done the inside should be cleaned out. Using plyers helps since most of the peices are aluminum (SWIM thinks...) and just bend really easly to fall out.
Also be sure to clean out the bulb completly with soap and water, and let fully dry. and be careful as bulbs are quite fragile!


3) Now find a bottle cap (mostly 2 liter coke-bottle caps work... they have on all the bulbs SWIM tried so far...) and screw it onto the light bulb (thats why you left some of the metal there ) to see if it fits. if it doesnt, look for a diffrent sized cap.


4) Now take your cap off and make 2 holes in it. 1 just big enough to fit a staw through, and the other slightly smaller. These are your inhalation holes, and your clearing hole. the smaller one is to cover with your finger to keep the smoke from excaping. the one with the straw is to inhale


5) Now to put in the straw to complete your vaporizer! put the straw into the larger hole



6) To use:
unscrew the top, and put your weed in (SWIM breaks his up, but thats just him...). Cover the smaller hole and put your mouth on the straw (dont inhale) and put the bulb over a tea-candle or use your lighter under the bulb. the bulb will fill with white smoke. after it does that, uncover the small hole and inhale through the straw. makes weed last longer and gets ya pretty damned high hope someone finds this useful on one of those days with nothing to smoke with... takes aprx 15 minutes to build.

Damned ! Beats $80 plus shipping. I got to try that after I get finished with my Ganga butter.
I am not a DIY, so uh.....how do you not get burnt and how do you ohold it when it's hot ?

Couldn't I just use a glass jar that already has a lid, like a small jar that Vicks Vaporrub or Noxema comes in?

mogie, i'll have to get with you on a diy for a true light bulb vape

my brother and i made a vape out of a mason jar and a light socket. we had our hose coming out of the lid. we fashioned a bowl from foil to sit on top of the bulb.

turn the switch on and it starts a steamin!
