Left over fan leaves make OIL. The left over trim leaves are for making HASH.
Those CRYSTALS, (slang term) on the leaves are called trichomes, while they are still on the leaves. In Europe, they call them resin glands. AFTER you remove them, they are called KIEF.
After you bake them, into a lump or chunk or cake, they are called HASH. That is where the HEADY HIGH THC is.

A lot of people make HASH a difficult way, called Bubble Hash with ICE and Ice water. If you google HASH, youtube, you can watch 300 videos on how to make hash. The most difficutl way is BUBBLE hash with ice water. I use a strainer, or filter or screen, that is in my kief box, to remove them.
MUCH EASIER FOR ME!. Get a kief box or a permanent metal coffee filter and I'll help you if yu have questions. It is easy the way I do it!

If I roll two joints a day, and use my kief box as a rolling tray, to break down my bud, at the end of each month, I find a gram to two grams of high grade kief in the bottom of my box.

Do you make your oil with your fan leave using the BHO method or the ISO method?

I always used the ISO method and never am really pleased with the results. What are they calling it now the Qwiso method?

Also, what do you do with your trim? I make tinture from it because I don't feel like taking the time to dry it and make hash from it. I make all of my keif straight from the buds.

I make HASH from the leaves I manicure off the buds, the leaves with trichomes. I make ISO Oil from the big FAN leaves.

Thanks for popping in and giving more detail, I do use less superior tools but I get the desired effect. I would have to say if someone chose to use the perm metal coffee filter to select a high quality fine screen one, the loose screen one I have at home is much larger and will let a considerable amount of leaf matter through.

One idiot on youtube forced his entire bud through the screen and called it keif! LOL, if only he knew.

Is that a grinder in the box you have also? It looks like an old sweet leaf grinder I had back in the late 90s.

I get on my sofa with a good movie on, with my box and the frozen leaves in a biggie. I put that baggie in a big stainless steel bowl with ICE to keep them COLD. I never knew trichomes didn't stick to leather. Thanks for the great advice! AND IF VERY COLD, they will not stick to anything.

So you bake your keif in celophane in the oven to cake it? Much easier than pressing with my press. I only do about a half a gram at a time pressing, I may let it collect longer and try that. Do you use basically a cigarette pack? No one here smokes cigarettes is why I ask. Oh and what heat setting?
