Default CFL Light Reflector (Not Tin Foil) VERY easy and cheap
So I didn't want to get any of that mylar stuff on the net so I built my own reflectors... VERY easy and simple.

Go down to walmart and buy a hot glue gun for about $8 and get some glue sticks for another $4 and go into sporting goods and pickup a SunShade (Car Windshield Reflector) for about $10 or so. Cut the SunShade up into the sizes you need and glue it to the sides of your grow box. It works really good in my PC Grow Box the temps never go over 85.

Nice and clean too ! The fan up higher to expel the hotest air would help keep temps down a bit more. I want one now

Good job !!!

Any chance of the material next to the lights overheating and catching fire? I see it's aluminum but there's plastic content under there too (and possibly a thin layer of plastic covering the aluminum too), correct?

If yes and you're now worring about it, you could make a reflector from one or more aluminum cans and mount it above the lights (between the lights and the existing material) to remove the possibility of fire.

I dont think it will catch fire....they have been made to withstand the heat of the sun, so I think there going to be alright.

The cfl's get up to like 85-90F in my experience so you should be safe but still leaves me uneasy. But you will have air flow going over them which will help with the temps right next to the bulbs.

I had temps problems like you where it gets cold so I asked for some supplementary heating ideas in the forums. One of the better ideas that I used was a ceramic heating lamp for reptiles. So far it's workin great. I mentioned this becuase I was worried about fire and this seemed one of the safest choices but the bulb gets quite hot so I have a fan blowing down on it which help cool it and heat my grow closet.

I saw your other thread where you have 2 babies growing. Good luck with that!!!
