Default DIY Stand for a Flood Tray
I have experimented with a few different tables in my grow area and posted a build for a flood and drain table using pond liner for the bottom of the table. I have used a few different material for draining the water away from the plants, you can not build one with all the enginered drainage that is in the flood tables they sell, most hydro shops will even drill the holes for the flood and drain fitting for you. A lot less messing around with the construction. SOO.. here it is, this one is a 2' by 4' tray ( actually it just under 43"). For the outside of the table I used 5/4 wolmanized porch boards, the rest is just 2x4's. I cut the necessary parts and then did a check to make sure it is the right size. Here is what the bottom looks like. Then I temporarliy installed some blocks to set the depth of the legs and installed them. The cross pieces stabilize the table and give me a place for the res. I glue caster in place, here is the frame all together and then we just lay the tray in it, stick a fork in it I am done. VV

I don't know what happened, I thought I posted a response, it doesn't show, sorry. I am not sure about + k, if you mean plus rep, you do that by clicking an the little scale of justice at the top right hand side of the post. This will bring up a dialog box for your comment. Most of the folks like it when thyt know who repped them, I just put VV at the end. VV

I haven't seen a combo flood and drain (ebb and flow). I have seen them for aero setups not 12" pots. Unless you have a fairly high ceiling you might not want to use pots that big. VV

Oh wow, I wish I'da thought of that, you must be a genius, now roll it around the room and stick a res under the table. You can just skip my threads, I don't think its funny or smart. VV

I'm going to be building a 3' x 3' version of this same thing. The table at my local hydro shop was like $190...

Thanks for the thread. Would you recommend grow bags and hydroton as a medium?
