Yesterday digging around at the Salvation Army I found some interesting stuff.

A aquarium kit that included ph up and down 95 cents.

Several gallons plastic pots 20 cents each.

A bathroom lighting strip (like the kind that has preset place to screw bulbs into popular about 10 years ago) but this was for a kids bathroom. Miniture. The bulbs were only about a bic lighter apart. Might make a cool cfl setup. Anyway it was on the tag sale so 10 cents.

Didn't need the fish kit. Picked up the pots. Didn't need the light strip since I don't do cfl's. But look around there is cool stuff out there.

Agreed, you can usually find lamp cords with just the plug and the socket for a dollar there, also the goodwill stores and probably thrift stores as well are good.

i love the thrift stores.

Don't feel bad about it, stuff donated to the stores helps people who need the stuff by providing low prices. Anybody buying the stuff helps the store by paying some of the overhead which helps fund the store and other community projects. Does a lot more than shoving money into walmart's pockets. I know what you mean though.

yeah us people that grew up poor don't like stepping foot in that place, though i do ocationally out of curiosity, im very quick about it, i prefer surplus stores, the one by my house sells mylar 50 cents a yard, among bigillions of test tubes and bearings and electrical components and stuff. lots of computer fans and squirrel fans and everything....
