Guys I found good directions for a homemade vaporizer. Check it out and tell me what you think. Put it under homemade pipes. I really appreciate your feedback on this. When I got bad feedback on some pipes posted a long time ago i pulled them. So I really do read and care about what you say.

mogie, here's a somewhat more refined version of the old soldering iron vapouriser.
I built this one in Jan, 2000. ![]() Calibrated the dial with an electronic thermometer. ![]() Here's the airflow diagram. Pardon the shonky art, that was 7 years ago and I'm a bit better at photoshop now! ![]() This vapouriser is the same as the one you linked, but things are mounted a bit more solidly and temp can be controlled. Built on a cast aluminum project box. A soldering iron element is bolted to the top of the box through a steel pickle jar lid with common hardware. An incandescent light dimmer is used to vary the temp of the element. The cone/bowl is a stainless steel thimble with a hole drilled in it, bolted to the end of the iron element. The 'dome' is a pickle jar. A length of 10mm dia tubing is used to draw the vapour. Rubber feet are needed as air intake holes are on the bottom of the box. I actually still have this thing somewhere, but never liked using it much. Last edited by Al B. Fuct; 05-02-2007 at 08:27 AM.. |

I saw one where it was made out of a light bulb and you just used a lighter to heat up the glass. You basically removed the filament while keeping the metal screw end on and jimmy-rigged a mouthpiece onto the metal screw piece. Never tried it, but that was about as cheap as you could get.
