Just doing my part as an active member of the MICRO REVOLUTION =]

Went down to my local Walmart and picked up a few items..

2 plastic "shoe box" tubs
reflective duct tape
air stone
air pump
Foam letters from the toy section
A hole saw bit for my drill

Drilled out some holes

You can drill up to 8 holes

Wrapped the tub and top with reflective tape... This will keep the light out. Also added the air stone.. the air line goes into the tub by a small hole I drilled near the top of the tub.

I'm using black foam plugs I got from the hydro shop...

...but you can make your own by using any kind of foam product you can easily find at walmart.

Take your clones, secure them in the plugs, and make vertical slits with a razor just cutting past the skin of the stem.

Dip in rooting powder... or gel... or nothing... you can root clones with just ph'ed water.

The clones in place.. and used the 2nd tub as a humidity dome

In less the a week you should start seeing some root action

You may see some yellowing of the lower leaves, but that's ok.. Once they are yellow, simply trim them.. My theory is that the clones use the stored energy in the lower leaves to stay healthy while they make roots.

In less then 2 weeks your clones won't be clones.. they will be plants ready for transplant =]

Hope this helps anybody trying to start there own personal micro grow =]
peace/love

this was a great tutorial! Im sure plenty of people will find this to be pretty neat.

Although I am confused as to how the cloning agent does anything after you have them submerged in water. It would seem that it would be washed off or dissapate immediately.

That is a great tutorial Wolfman. I'd give you a plus rep but I need to spread a little more love first. Props to you though.
If I wanted to split hairs. you could have shown a pic of the airstone's position (and pump specifications)
I'm sure one or two people will be wondering what it is for too.
They can always ask though, thats the beauty of this site.
Do you run the pump all the time?

Nice crafty work....simple enough and cheap enough for all. Do you have any holes on the humidity dome?

wolf when you transplant the clones how r u putting them into the next bubbler just like that or r you putting them into a 3" cup with pellets? thanks

Good question Koolhand... and yes I will be putting them in netpots with clay pellets... I don't think I will need the rockwool any more since each clone has nice roots and stems.

I will post pictures on here when I do... which will be soon. I will be giving most of the clones away since I only need 2 as mothers.... picking which 2 is going to be hard, since I like each of their mothers.... but I may keep one from Star.. the one that showed some sativa... and Wind... who showed strong indica... but Esperansa showed sex first and has the most bud sights... and Spirit is not that far behind her... so it's not going to be easy.

Here is a pic of what the clones look like a few days ago..

Top job with those clones. I wish I had read that before I did mine. It took about three weeks before I even saw one root! Next time I will be making one of those for my clones.
Thanks.

thanks wolf. just a thought if you took your clone put it in rockwool and then in the basket and grew it just like seed you should be all set right then you wouldn't have to transplant? move the cup.

Hey Wolf Buddy I hope you don't mind

I just wanted to post a picture of my own home made filter following your design for others to see !!

and the inside,

I used an old iso propyl bottle for the inside, just put a good 50+ holes in it first and voila !!

No more smell, I miss it.. lol.. but had to go !

Thanks Wolf,

Dovesprings.. I don't have a "DIY 3 gallon DWC"

I wouldn't flower in the DWC cloner, but I'm sure it's possible as long as you keep the plants small..

I am flowering in 1 gallon DWC... 2 plants per unit..
Top 2 chambers are flowering.. the lower chamber is the cloner with clones vegging away

hey what up zen. By the way AWESOME!!! but i knda had the same question. first is do you actually submerge the ends into the liquid solution, and if you do doesn't it wash off, if so would it be a waste?
