There is some restriction of course, but I still have descent air flow, and my temps have not changed. I can put my hand up to the filter and feel the warmth cumming out of it.

What is the diameter of the larger pencil holder?

The one I bought was 4" round by say 7" tall.then there is a smaller one that goes inside which is like 3.5" round by 5. same as he bought hope this helps

great cheapie filter, I can see why this is done for those not mechanicaly or crafty to build others.

I have to point out that crushing and "washing" activated carbon does nothing for increasing life. The surface area is the microscopic pores in the material that were created by the technique of making this stuff.

The pet carbon is liquid phase and will not last as long as the vapor phase stuff you have to buy elsewhere.

Nice post though, this was much better than a couple of the other crappy ones I see people make.

I just made one of these and I must say it works perfectly. I miss the smell myself now but... It cost me 20$ to do all of it and i'm happy with the result. Cheers on the idea .

Wolfman Zen, you are a godsend. You post this thread just as I needed something like this. I have a closet grow, 2.5x4x6.5 I started flowering this weekend but they already smell. You said don't hesitate to try this at home, so I did'nt. It is up and running and is AWSOME!!!! THANK YOU!!! oh yeah +REP


Only 1 canister of carbon was needed and the ties were too small, I had to get 14'' zip ties. The twist-clamps were too small also.

I tried using two filters, but carbon ended up spilling out a vent, 4 works perfect.



The small pencil holder don't quite sit low enough so I used a nail and hammer to add some holes at the bottom.

SORRY TO HOG THE THREAD!!! the 50 CFM bath fan is going to work great for my space, I have it all hooked up and find myself missing the sweet aroma!!! haha I will post a pic of it in action tomarrow. YOU DA MAN WOLFIE!!!!
