Default Help Me Make Better Bubble Hash
So i recently bought a 5 bag 5 gallon kit and i have been having great fun with them. A decent amount of growers around my parts and they just call me when there crop is done i show up for there waste and do a bubble run and split it with them.

I do however have a few questions, For one How long do i need to stir it? I mix it in a 5 gallon bucket without the bags cause i'm scared to hurt them, I use a paint mixer padel on an electric drill, Then i just pour it all into another bucket with the bags, mix it gently by hand for a second and then leave it to sit for 30 minutes. I had been doing it for about 10-15 minutes but i am coming up with a less then ideal product, The 20 & 45 micron bags produce a decent but dark colored product, but the 75 is hard and not soft and pliable like the other 2 grades. And there all quite dark in color.

Secondly i have been doing 2 runs for each batch and have on the occasion of a very large batch done a third, Should i be doing more?

Also i understand that fresh trim gives the best quality but more often then not i don't have that option since its not my stuff and it's usually already dry before i get there, So i was wondering if it would be beneficial to just let the leaves soak awhile to soften back up before i start mixing them?

Do i really need to let them sit for 30 minutes before i start to pull the bags? Often i am working at somebody elses house and anything i can do to get out faster would be better as long as we get the same yeild

Often when i'm done i have noticed a particulate matter in the water that i was using, these particles must be smaller then the the 25 bag since they seem to have passed through and not been caught, What are they and should i just dump the water back through the 25 bag and try to collect them?

I have noticed that alot of people like to sit it out and let it dry naturally, I press the water out of mine with my fingers right away so we can split it up. Would i have better product if i let it dry naturally?

Thanks for taking the time to read all my questions, +rep for answering them. Thanks Again

fuck that's a lot of questions. i think i can answer them all.

10 - 15 mins is a good stir time. as long as you aren't breaking up a lot of leaf matter.

i think i throw my 75 away.

i do three runs when gently hand mixing.

i think fresh trim gives a gooey final product where as dry trim makes it a little harder to press.

i don't wait to pull the bags. i often get backed up so the water does sit for a little while before it all gets poured thru the bags.

the particulate matters is dust, dirt and what-not. toss it.

i dry mine for a few days now but i used to press it immediately. it will mold this way unless stored in the freezer. if you let it dry before pressing it won't mold.

i think i got them all.

Damn you the man fdd, but did i understand that right, You mix and then you immediately pull the bags with no settling period?? Never had a problem with mold, Once i press all the water out with my fingers it's the consistency of silly putty. Do i really need to worry about mold If i'm not looking at storing it for more then a month max? I have never had a batch that even lasted that long.

And lastly is there anything you could recommend to improve my product? And you toss you 75??? Really I smoke it but my girl does refer to it as "The BooBoo" It hurts me to toss the 120 and i'm sure its trash.

Thanks for the speedy help

Ok, I put it to a test and the only effect that not letting it sit for 30 minutes was in yeild, Not in overall yeild just in where it was. I found that the sit seems to drop more through the 45 bag and into the 20. Without the settle it my 25 bag was mostly empty while my 45 was loaded. With it my 45 had about 1/3 less and that 1/3 was in the 25 bag. I will no longer be soaking before i pull the bags.

I may also just stop using the 45 bag. I may just skip from the 75 to the 25 as i am rarely working with enough raw materikal to justify seperating it into 3 grades, I wouldn't want the 75 in there but the 45 and 25 should be fine combined.

Thanks for the help

I always do a second run, Often i do a third with just the 220work bag,the 150 and the 25. I discard the first 2 and then we usually smoke the contents of the 25 on the spot. By the 3rd run i think there is so little left i have never tried more then that. Diminishing returns has usually brought my 3 run to all of .2-.3 grams so i don't go any farther then that.

Does hard water have the potential to effect it at all??? A few of my runs have been done in the boondocks and the well water out there tends to be VERY hard, and smells of what i'm guessing is sulfer, Never noticed it but i have wondered if it's effecting things.
