Cook the ganja (I've used as little as 1/8 oz.) in the oil/butter/margarize for about 10 minutes on med/low. Strain out the green (optional) and add oil when called for in the recipe.

Listen, this is the quickest and most effective. Take your bud and grind into a powder in a blender/coffee grinder. Take the oil recommended by 2 boxes of brownies and heat over low heat. Put your plant matter in and stir continuously for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Make the rest of the brownie mix and then add the oil and plant matter to the mix. Bake according to box and cut into about 30 servings. They will be super strong with 3 oz of schwag for sure. Try and i know you will enjoy.

Why would you do it for 10 minutes? That's a waste. I know he's using a lot of stuff, but it simply makes no sense to try and stir-fry the pot butter.
Good cannabutter needs long time, low temperature.
At 10 minutes on medium, with that much butter, the entire batch of butter would barely even heat before you remove it. Sorry mafeeker, but you are simply incorrect.

With 3 O's, it would also make you trip balls to simply start stuffing the weed in your mouth, or to use water instead of butter. But why fuck it like that?

Also, at 3 ounces in a batch, there would be a LOT of butter there. Liquids, especially butter, take longer than that to even begin to heat, on a medium-set stove. So, if the goal is to use the butter to extract the THC, then no, that method would not work.

I hate to sound like a dick, but that's just fact, and I'm speaking from more than 5 years of brownie-oriented experience. Smoking seems so passé now.

the crock pot is your best bet man! i've done both methods(crock pot and stove top) and the crock pot takes a little longer but its definately worth it. as far as tripping goes i think its possible to have a physedelic experience from eating some potent brownies. my last batch of brownies consisted of an oz. of ak-47 headies and that started playing with my vision after a while.

You can use the crock pot method but it is messy mixing butter, weed and water. I prefer to use a double boiler( a pan of boiling water with another pan that is made to fit on top of the pan with the boiling water in it). Clean about a 1/2 to 1 oz of regs and chop it up in a coffee grinder then put one to two sticks of butter in the top pan (depending how strong you want them) with the weed and let it simmer on medium heat for 45 min to 1 hr. The butter will be nice and green at this point. Just strain the weed out of the butter and use the butter in your brownie mix. I have found that this method is a lot easier with less mess than the crock pot method and the brownies will be kick ass. I make a batch using this method time i go on vacation or take a trip and they have always turned out kick ass.
