Please help with canna oil

forums; I made canna oil with organic coconut oil and 1oz of shake, i didnt refrigerate it just left it out ...

    Default Please help with canna oil

    I made canna oil with organic coconut oil and 1oz of shake, i didnt refrigerate it just left it out for about 10 hours and there is now a green substance on top and the smallest amount of some blackish brownish looking substance on the bottom(kinda the color of a beer bottle)

    Can i cook with it right now or what do i have to do? do i use the greenish creamy stuff ??

    Not quite sure what you've got. Did you strain it is, did you use water with it? The coconut oil would be solid at room temp so if its water on the bottom drain it off, if you strained it and used no water mix it up and put it in the frig it will keep longer. Really don't know your process so you asking everyone to guess.

    I just got one jar of coconut oil and an ounce of good shake, put the coconut oil in and let it get to simmering, then decarbd the bud, then mixed them together and cooked it in the oven to better control the temp

    i cut off the brown shit at the bottom since noone replied fast enough, a little got in the batch but its whatever. People are saying that some of the brownies are good and some are shitty, like some taste like ass and are bad, and the others taste like a bomb ass normal tasting delicious chocolate dutch cocoa brownie. Those peeps said they were soaring.....could this brown shit have alot of potency?

    ok so no water was used correct?

    if no water was used I am feeling the "browner stuff" could have potentially been thc that sank to the bottom during your cooking and did not bond to the fats in the oil however it also could have just been green crap that did not get strained.

    IME... coconut has not separated like yours might have? dont know the brand or your cooking directions

    How long did you cook for what temp?

    Ya I'm guessing it was the shake that didn't get stained away. No worries. Live and learn, next time try almond oil and not quite so hot, like 126 degrees if you can hit that number. Leave it there for four hours strain through cheese cloth not a coffee filter (I don't like em as they can stop some of your lovely cannabanoids from getting through. Anyway cheese cloth and into the bottle from which it came. Good for brownies, salads, soup...

    I'm not sure what your exact problem is, but next time try using canola oil in a crockpot. Fill 2/3 full with leaf and shake, cover to one inch above with canola oil and cook on low setting 24 hours. Then strain and strain again and pour into clean bottle and store with cap on tight in the refrigerator. Mine lasts up to a year with no residue or mold or any ill effect. Gets everyone high and I use it in just about everything I cook or eat! Good or better luck next time. You learn every time you do it.
