Low Fat treats?
I am looking for low fat recipes. Wife has a GI issue and cannot tolerate anything with more than 5 gms of total fat per serving. I have never cooked with cannabis but am thinking about doing trying this fall after the harvest. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why dont you try extracting the THC into butter and cook w/ that?

well since she cant really eat to much fat extracting to butter would be a bad idea im guessing. so id say try a glycerin tincture or maybe just bake some hash into a good recipe

yes use a glycerin or alcohol based tincture (called green dragon)
The problem with a "low fat" and a pot medible is thc needs fat to be active in. You can use other bases such as glycerin or alcohol.

THC is activated by heat, THC bonds to fats so you can get higher saturation of THC in fats from what i gather
Edit: people say you dont have to heat it for it to become psychoactive but IDK about that i never get a good buzz from edibles or when i make weed liquor anyways tho my friends do so i cant say. but you do get medical benefits from raw bud if eaten even if your not geting high it helps prevent strokes in mice in test FYI link to vid if you care

After reading up on the tincture, it seems to be very much used medicinally where as we just want to get high. I think we will experiment adding hash to an already low fat recipe. She already makes some great low fat desserts. We will just have to experiment with how much hash is needed for the buzz while not overpowering the dessert flavors. Since I am new to cooking with hash, is there any cooking temp/time requirements I should be aware of so that we don't lose the potency?

I think she has a problem if she wants to eat MJ edibles. My best advice would be to get some high quality extract and find put it in some cream, heat the cream up a little bit, put enough so your wife can tolerate it into some tea or coffee and enjoy.

BadKat's CannaPharm: Canna Caps, UV Reactive Glowing Hash Candy, Canna 'Bombs' & More
badcats sticky on the first page will give you a very high ratio of THC to fat. You idea of using hash will allow for greater concentration.
