I keep it, and then I remelt it once i drain the water out and then let it harden again and all that weird THC sludge goes back into the butter and when it hardens again it is all there and not all smushy..
I apologize for my incessant rambling, but if you are patient there is inner hidden wisdom in most of my posts...Like playing literary "Where's Waldo."--------------- See, it's fun!
Honestly it all depends on how you filtered it during your cooking process.. It may be just plant material with a bit a thc..
and it depends on what is meant by "mushy stuff" I have made it many times and dont know what your referring to, I assumed you meant the portion of oil/water mix after you have frozen it and then are dethawing it.. post pixs?
i strained with cheesecloth so there wasnt any plant material in my butter. the top layer was hardened butter. and stuck to the bottom of the butter is softer substance not plant material not water. and then under this softer substance is the water. im thinking its just oils from the butter but after removed the full solid butter i also scraped the top of the water and collected all this substance as well. kinda looks like butter but its mushy and soft even after refrigeration.
