So, with my recent harvest I made butter using the recipe found on the GrowFaq on these forums.

So I ended up with.

1 Ounce of Cannabis
7 cups of water
4 sticks of real unsalted butter.

Grind up cannabis as fine as you can make it.
Add cannabis water, and butter to crock pot. Cook on high for 3 hours, then on low for another 3 hours. Strain through 5 layers of cheese cloth into a container (yes, I said 5. I hate floaties in my weed butter lol), then leave in fridge to set over night.
After you drain out the waste water, It is probably a good idea to re-melt the butter, and using a straw, you can siphon off the last little bit of water out of the butter. Remember water is denser than butter/oil, so water falls out of the butter into the bottom of the container, and can be sucked out. (DO NOT DRINK THE WATER!!!!)

Here are the results. I ended up with 1 and 1/2 cups of cannabis butter.

(NOTE: the 2 litter bottle is just there for size comparison)

suggestions: switch to unsalted butter and just go 2hrs high 2hrs low on a crock pot. trust me, the butter is far better, i have used 3/3 hr cycles before.

Yeah, I used the unsalted butter.


Now my only dilemma is what to make with it.

I would like to try to make something like truffles or maybe some peanut brittle. Something holidayish.

for sure! I like to get crazy with it, both desserts and dinner type stuff. I'm about to have Danksgiving, with everything cannabutter infused!

it mostly would not, because its the THC thats soluble in the lipids. so if those herbs had lipid soluble compounds they would. the herbs will change the butter's flavor, however.
