Red face can i cook cannabutter 2long?
i got it in a crockpot on low is 12hours ok? 2 sticks of butter 3cups water and about an ounce of trim

to my understanding is that you only simmer it for 30 mins

then use about a 1/4 of the butter you useing for the 2nd run

30 mins period

also melt the butter 1st then add the weed

A recipe I have used calls for cooking cannabis in butter with water. Large quantinties are required.

Take the cannabis and run it through a screen to remove any seeds and to break it up up into a fine powder.

Put powder into a medium sized stainless steel pot.

Add 2 times the weight in butter to the cannabis.

Cover with water.

Bring to a boil then turn down the heat, cover, and simmer for at least 5 hours. Add water to keep the mess from burning in the pot. Stir often. Your house will stink while this going on. Its best to do this in a place far from anyone who might wonder what the smell is.

After 5 (or even hours take the mess off the heat and pour everything through a fine mesh strainer. Press the cannabis to get out all the butter.

The butter will float to the top as the solution cools.

Remove the now hardened green butter. Throw out the water.

Rinse the butter in cool distilled water. Throw away the water, keep the butter.

You can mix this butter with honey or use in any recipe that is sweet. The taste will be very strong.

This really works. Its just about the only way I use cannabis.

ok but now whats the stirring bit?? like do you stir every time it bubbles or do you just let it sit after a while? (3-4 hours)

my buddy simmers his butter for days at a time.. not a problem if the temp isnt too high... and he makes some potent ass butter

I just cooked a big batch up (over a pound of dry plant matter) i let it cook on low with no lid (it got too hot with the lid on) for about 20 hours, seems much the same as when i did it for 8 hours. I've not eaten any yet but i'm sure it'll knock me on my ass.
