Been lurking and looking for recipes - happy to have found this forum.
Had some stuff that was too harsh to smoke, so I thought that I'd take my first foray into homemade edibles...made a small amount of butter, and won't be using it this til later week, but the first taste was quite nice....

No news yet - I woke up with this morning feeling pretty sick to my stomach, so I didn't want to chance the butter....am hoping it wasn't from tasting the batch yesterday? Could I have messed up something enough to make myself sick? I don't think that I got any kind of buzz, so I couldn't have overdone it - just a couple of dipped fingers in the warm stuff before refrigerating it.
I hope that I've just got a bug or something that moves on...but if anyone sees any obvious signs of stupidity here, lemme know...before I try again - I've been queasy all day....

how was the weed u made your butter with? mids? shwag? MOLDY?

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't the cannabudder that made you sick; especially if it was from the night before that you had it.

What are the stats on your budder? How much bud did you use? How much butter? How long you let it cook for?

I've recently changed to using coconut oil rather then butter and it is WAY fucking better I think. Plus, it's a lot healthier for you and if you make the batch strong enough, you can use it as a skin medicinal skin cream.

Made it with some dispensary trichome kif...not moldy, just not as tasty as the purple grandaddy hash that I've been smoking, so I thought it would be a good candidate, and leave little or no plant residue to have to cheesecloth out afterward.
I'm inclined to think that it was something else that squirrelled up my guts, since I was still having some trouble last night....but thanks for listening....and I open to any and all pointers for next time.
I tried what I read here about ratios, and adding a tiny bit of vanilla extract for the flavor....have been daydreaming about waffles, with lotsa cannabutter and syrup....or is it better to cook with it, than just whack it something?

....tried the waffles idea this morning....best commute to work that I've had in a while....very nice relaxed body buzz...
I think I'll try a double dose tomorrow....
