have a -huge- bag of trimmings from today's harvest, stems, leaves, teeny-tiny buds, that sort of thing.... (yay! happy me!)
i'm pretty much planning on making a bunch of butter with it, how long should i dry it before i cook it, and what ratio trim/butter do you think would be best ??? im so excited, havent had ganga butter in FOR-EV-ER! cant wait! ![]()

5 oz of trimmings
1.6 quarts water 1lb of butter simmer for two hours, bring liquid to a boil. Strain mix through colander, save the liquid below. Press wet leaves to get all of the liquid out, then pour 0.5 quarts of watter on leaves to wash out remaining butter. let mix stand and cool... the mix will sepparate with butter on top, water on bottom. dump the water and keep your new canabutter. good luck

thanks so much for the quick reply,
i've helped other people through the process before, and im sure i can do it, i just needed the general amounts to aim for also, can i cook it up fresh clipped like it is , or should i dry it first ? |

oh my bad, I thought this was your first time trying....It's all good though!
In my opinion I would use fresh leaves, just because the resin glands will still be intact. Make 2 batches, then see by experiment. (you can never have too much canabutter!)

i am SO ready to start this as soon as i know it wont be a waste to do them fresh!!!
and to be clear, we're talking FRESH, still wet, just cut, to me, it seemed that it should work just fine this way... but ive never used fresh cuttings before!! so do you think i should just boil them roughly chopped while their fresh, rather than ground? |

yes, I just chop up the leaves like parsley, then sauté.
