I want to make a batch of coconut oil infused with THC.

Since coconut oil is solid at room temp would I:

1) melt coconut oil in pot and proceed the same way as making cannabis oil?

or

2) Add water, bring to boil, add coconut oil (as it is solid) to water, then add the cannabis and process like making canna-butter?
