• Calexico Planning Grants Prohibition on Marijuana Dispensaries

The Calexico Planning Commission granted a decree prohibiting Medical marijuana Dispensaries. The passed decree would lead to a complete prohibition on cooperatives and collectives of medical marijuana. It wouldn’t keep people who are eligible from obtaining medical marijuana, and wouldn’t stop that person from having the help of another individual to assist them grow marijuana. However, the decree would ban any major marijuana sales business. Morton Park, the Deputy City Attorney stated that the prohibition could be suitable for resentment by medical marijuana’s proponents.

On the other hand, the Calexico City Council has already made four public debates regarding the issue and some resident proponents of medical marijuana have been present at the discussions. However, Morton Park stated that the prohibition won’t possibly make any difficulty with the government regarding this topic.

The Council examined a variety of alternatives, assessing different cities; decrees, assessing amendments in court cases and legislation concerning medical marijuana concerns. The Calexico City Council gave instructions on its meeting which will be held on August 16, 2010 in order to prepare a decree banning dispensaries for the consideration of the Council. The City Staff gave a decree prohibiting dispensary facilities of medical marijuana for consideration at the Council’s meeting held last December 6, 2011.

With Calexico bordering Mexico - I'll bet dispenseries could be puting a hurt on the illegal Mexican weed trade. "Friends" of the cartels would want to see mexican brick weed be the only choice for sick patients. Every dispensery shuttered provides more money to the cartels. Stupid city councel - or maybe not! maybe just greedy and paid off.

It's not difficult to figure out the location from the name of this place. Calexico, California+Mexico, on the border. How about Mexicali, can you figure that one out? Mexicali, Mexico+California. Other side of the border. Twin sisters sorta, one uglier than the other. No dispensaries? Gee, I wonder why.

Yeah, right. No body needs a dispensary except lazy people right axion? Except maybe for folks who are bedridden, people who are wheelchair bound, those who have no growing skills, folks who don't know the first thing about which varieties are good for their condition, people with no room to grow or whose living conditions prevent them from being able to have a small space to grow. No one right axionjaxson? Yeah, keep it real.

Yeah I agrree to a certain extent. I mean dispensaries are driven by profit & greed. But it does put cannabis out ther for everyone to see & the more people see it the more comfortable they will become with it.

A Planning Commission is not a court of authority in law to pass decrees, this is unconstitutional and BS. Oh, the city is doing their own thing here since cops do their bidding, what a crooked town.

Wait a minute... Calexico, really? Mexicali, ok I guess so, but Calexico? That's the best they could do when it came time to name the city?

why is Mexicali any better than Calexico? the basic "idea" of the mixing of the names works better for Calexico than Mexicali anyways...

MEXico + CALIfornia = MEXICALI or CALifornia + mEXICO = CALEXICO.

And I just came through Mexicali about a week ago and it really isn't that bad. I don't know what parts you have seen, or seen recently (those who say its ugly) but it has improved ALOT throughout the last 7 or 8 years I've been going down to mexico. the roads still might suck for the most part, but the city itself seems alot nicer/cleaner.
