I went to my local smoke shop in Ontario Ca. And saw this new can of butane called "bleu magic", I've always liked trying different butanes to see if I get different results so I got a couple cans. I usually use vector or newport but it's hard to find around here and it's really expensive. But I tried this "bleu magic" and I was surprised to have gotten better taste from my wax, and usually I don't get this much yield. I usually get 3.0 grams to 3.5 grams from a ounce, but this gave me 5 grams. Well I wanted to know the results of anyone else that has tried it. And if anyone knows where to get cases from, cuz the smoke shop will only sell me single cans!

Thanks Matt, these dudes have nothing better to do, so they find people to bash!im Trying to find this for my next run, and I don't want to pay 5 bucks for each can! I rather buy alot and get a deal

or possibly just over excited for a reply.

sorry jaysleezy, never heard of it.
Notice he claimed massively better yield by switching to this new brand of tane no one has ever heard of.

My guess is that someone just discovered OEM butane from China.

Dan kone since you have so much knowledge please tell us the difference between power 5x and Newport or vector, why do they cost double the price if butane makes no difference?

I didn't say it made no difference, I said it doesn't do what you claim it does, increase yield. Also you're not likely to get a terpene improvement over newport unless you're using clouds mixture, but those are as annoying as fuck imo.

And yes, I do have so much knowledge and I am willing to share.

Newport is a nearly pure product. It's a mix of iso and n butane with a little bit of propane for a propellant. This is going to give you a shorter cook time allowing you to keep more of them terpenes. However personally I'm not that big of a fan of Newport (also cloud) because I feel like they go a little heavy on the isobutane. This tends to give wax a more wet look, which is perfectly acceptable, however lowers your potency a few %. If you're going pure terpenes, this is the best can. If you're going for potency there are better options.

Vector WAS pretty good at one time, but I'm not a fan these days. Despite what the msds report says, in addition to the standard mix of iso and n along with propane it also contains a little hexane. This is going to hurt your cook time a bit, as a result more heat = less terpenes. Not a lot, but a little. However I do like their ratio of N to Iso. Shatter heads love this ratio. However I haven't messed with vector recently so I can't say for sure if they've gone through changes in mixture like many cans have recently.

Power 5 at one time was my favorite. However like many brands they changed their mix without telling anyone (around April of last year if I remember correctly). It used to be a pretty awesome mix, a little heavy on the propane but it was still cheap and effective. However as a lot of people noticed instead of taking ~60 seconds to empty a can all of a sudden it started taking ~90 seconds. This is because they started subbing out propane for pentane. Yes pentane, and yes that is disgusting. They aren't the only ones though. Several big brands have started mixing in pentane, but power is the worst (unless you count shitty chinese tane).

I realize this isn't what most conventional internet wisdom says (largely based on msds reports). But when you have 300+ RST tests under your belt you learn a thing or two about what's really in these cans. It's not always what it claims to be.

Any more questions?

U didn't tell us the differences, just taste? So people pay double for just taste and a wet look?
lol wut?

I told you EXACTLY what the differences were. And yes, people pay more for concentrates that taste better so people pay more for cans that help them accomplish this.

Why do people pay double for Newport and vector? Newport taste better and vector makes hash more potent? I didn't want a report u found on the internet or a post after u did a hour of research, I wanted a plain and simple answer

Vector (at least when I used it), made for a stiffer shatter. Newport is easier to purge. It makes taste buds and nails happy.

Also I always got pretty sweet color results with both of the above.

Potency + color + terpenes are the 3 most important qualities for extracts. At least commercially.

Whats wrong with Pentane? I use pentane to extract and also to clean up other extracts. Explain please

Higher boiling point, harder to purge. Have to use more heat for a longer time meaning you're killing terpenes. Not considered a food safe product. While you can't possibly get enough pentane in a dab to get a fatal dosage, it's not as harmless to ingest as chemicals like butane and Ethanol. With the bad rap bho gets with people calling it toxic, I like to stay away from chemicals that make them technically correct, even though as I said it's impossible to get a lethal dose.
