3 kinds of BHO w/budder

honestly my first run with bho
i make excellent iso oil which i usually budder up. but i mean it just doesnt compare to bho obviously haha.
i did 2 different methods
all with fresh cut buds. they all hermied out and are premature so i cut one down and im letting the rest go a bit longer. its day 39 of 12/12

the whitish budder was made with glass extractor
the darker earl is the second run with the tube

the goldish glob i tried to budder up but it turned to almost shatter i made the mason jar method
idk how many people know of/ have tried this method, but its awsome. heres the link to the vid that helped me

so easy. i froze the butane for like 20 minutes and made the cap.
swirled the nug for about a minute and the rest same as normal.

the mason jar yeiled way more and i used maybe 1/2 the amount.
the taste id say budder and mason jar are about equal but seperatly unique.
the second run oil has the best taste. i assume tho bc i did runs like 6 hours apart and the buds dried a little

the budder is by far the most potent tho.

im fucking retarded and was playing with them all and my dirty fingers is why theres speckles in my bho :/

ive been thinking about doing the mason jar method, do you load but into jar before or will the butane spraying around make oils fly out as well??

i was thinking if i sprayed it in there it would break off easier, but then again its just dissolving the trichs into a oil..

how was straining the mason jar?

Fill the jar first. Then dump bug and swirl. Straining was simple. I watched the color change just dumped into my dish.

For us'n fokels who don't live where it is below -.5C/31.5F, a stainless thermos works well for extracting this way. I have soaked up to 1.5 hours in 60F ambient temperatures, without the butane evaporating away.

I dump it through a Chinoise wire strainer, and then through a commercial coffee filter, into a stainless bain marie sitting in hot tap water. The first photo is the raw oleoresin extract from cured material and the last is the Absolute from fresh frozen material:

Is this a good method for someone who has never done extractions?

I've been looking at ISO, Ice Wax, BHO and all of the above and still confused as to which method would be best for a first timer

I've made bubble hash, but that's about it

if you dont plan on making a lot, i think this method here works the easiest, with minimal materials required.. ..

butane is an excellent solvent for extractions IMO..

If you have already made bubble, Ice Wax would ostensibly be the shortest leap for you to improve your extraction.

If you are going to use a solvent, non polar BHO is easier to get a pristine extraction with than polar alcohol, but you must pay attention to details to safely do so, as butane is the most inflammable of the lot.

The method giving you the best control, though not the best thruput volume, would be a stainless thermos, which I regularly pick up at Goodwill for $15. Check out Jumps Absolute Amber thread for details or the last procedure detailed on the page at http://skunkpharmresearch.com/bho-extraction/
