Best Grow Method for Extractions
I am interested in doing grows that are exclusively for extractions. No harvesting for buds, only material for going into extraction vessels. As I have heard it so far, the best way is to only flower for about 3 to 4 weeks, and then take the entire plant (stem, leaves, flowers, everything), grind it up and process it. Any input?
I don't know what the best method is, but we remove the fan leaves and hang the plant for 5/7 days, or until the small stems snap. About the same time they are ready to jar for curing.
For BHO oral or topical, we trim off the buds and heat then in a 200F oven until just frangible when rolled between the finger and thumb, and them scrub them through a 10 mesh screen, to size and remove the stems.
For a polar extraction, or for bragging rights vaporization oil, we just break up loosely by hand.
look for strains with a high leaf to calyx ratio vs a high calyx to leaf ratio
trim makes better extracts. Period.
if u only flower for 3-4 weeks u wont make to much hash at all
