Well thats the part I'm not to sure about lol. It seems to work but if someone knows of a better way to press it into a ball let me know pls. But the micro with a tiny bit of water softens the kief up and is easier to compress without using an actual press or I could drive on it with car I guess lol. photo (2).jpgphoto.jpg This is the second run after emptying it once. I estimate about 14-16 grams total. Also I lost the tray that comes with it, it works alot better.

What size is the silk screen you're using? it looks like you have a lot of contaminate in there. Everything green is plant matter.

I think the best thing to do is modify your setup with two screens, an inner and outer. Inner should be a 160 micron screen and the outer should be 45 micron.

The key to the hash being malleable is the purity of it. I recently made a batch using generic bubble bags and all of the trichomes caught by the 45 micron screen are super malleable, consistency of clay and is a solid blonde/golden color.

The 160 micron is going to block out plant matter. Its still good to smoke this stuff but you will notice how grainy it is which prohibits malleability.

What color is it supposed to be? After it is heated and rolled into a ball it is black on the outside and a darker biege green on the inside and becomes quite malleable. When heated with lighter it actually turn into playdough. It is a 100 micron synthetic silk screen I got from the art store. It is alot tanner looking then the pics, I was surprised it looked so green as well. I will post a pic of the finished product tonight after I make it so you can see. I have made bubble hash and yes this is not quite the same but I was shooting for a more traditional hashish that doesnt melt in the pipe lol. I may put a smaller screen on but two screens would be kinda hard I think but will see if it can be done. Again I do not want bubble hash but the old style black I used to get off the ships in montreal yummy!!!

Screen size doesnt matter much when the plant matter breaks down enough to slip past it. Seems like the machine/you broke the weed down too much. If you like the black hash and thats what you got then no need to fix anything. The lighter the color (blonde-gold honey) hash the purer it is. As a example your hash might only be 40% THC becuase there is so much plant matter while a nice golden full melt may be 70%.
