Lots of good info on this threds thanks fadedawg!
From what I've heard, power5 is really tripled filtered, and power7 is really 5x filtered, since they count their paper filters as part of the process too. Supposedly Vector is better, but I dunno.i like to get the final honeycomb/wax product, i use power 5 butane..
you seem to have really good information on BHO.. is there a better solvent you recommend? im paying about 2.70 a can, and i get about 2.5 -3 g o wax out/can.. i would love to cut my costs down.. im open to new ideas, but i really like my final product to be the wax, and i really like it to not bubble, or crackle, and just melt... can you please throw lots of great information at meee :] or links, or what not, anything and everything, thanks!
The whole XXX thing is a Madison Avenue plaudit to separate us from our money and has nothing to do with the products suitability for extraction. They are doing the extra refining steps to remove oleagenous waxes, which clog the small orifices of expensive lighters. The oleagenous waxes in butane are paraffin and no more toxic than the plant waxes. From what I've heard, power5 is really tripled filtered, and power7 is really 5x filtered, since they count their paper filters as part of the process too. i really wish i had your background knowledge.....The whole XXX thing is a Madison Avenue plaudit to separate us from our money and has nothing to do with the products suitability for extraction. Residual butane, at the levels found in badly purged BHO, is more of a taste issue, than a health issue, as it is far below Permissible Exposure Limits. n-Butane is non toxic enough to be used as a food propellant. IE:i really wish i had your background knowledge.....
in YOUR opinion, how bad on health is purged BH? how bad for my health would you say Power 5, 7 vetor 3, 5, 42 is for me? i like to smoke my hash with heated elements(stone, skillet), not combustible ones (lighter) .. but if i smoke a bowl of flower, im using my lighter to ignite my leaf, and who knows how much bad stuff i get off the lighter and what not.. (this really depends on process, and who done it, but lets say its pretty top notch for this sake )
which do you think gives you more harmful material:
a non combusted heated up BH hit.
or a snap of some nice weed, with my bic lighter?
....... by the prcocess, it seems like you are smoking a lot of other stuff with the leaf and lighter ( im no hater of that btw)
but on the other hand, even though purged for daysssss, and looks good, and melts good, the tane is a polar solvent.. does it only stay polar when its freezing cold?????
how on earth do you now so much? were you part of a secret society that created solvent hashhhhish?
