i don't know how to make it. :-(

i have tried numerous times and failed. i try whipping and stirring and heating and warm water and everything my buddy told me to do. it just melts back into oil. :sad:

i hate when i can't do things. :sad:

It is apparently strain-dependent, but I don't know which strains. I strongly suspect THCA is involved, which is why I would never heat ear-wax-destined extracts.
Sometimes my extract will semi-solidify. I keep residues of my last solidified bunch for the THCA seed crystals. But the "green crack" extract i have now won't set even after seeding. cn

i've been stirring it for an hour now. as soon as i stop it goes fluid. :neutral:

i always just spread mine thin and let it dry for a week or two. my buddy brought his by the other day and i really like the way you can handle it. he's too busy to show me how to do it though. :(

not sure if what your tryin to make is what i think it is but if your tryin to make cannabudder look up hashbean420 on youtube. hes got some very informative videos on how to make it.

faded I have been trying ALL different methods of preparation. Your spray and dry method is near the top. The whipping works well for me with very good material. When Im using my finest buds and i use the hot water and whip method I can usually get it to lighten up and after you let it cool for a while sometimes a day, it really turns into some wax. The stuff that I dryed out for 4 days, and then heated up to gather is like a really pretty amber glass now. It is like rock hard. Amazing smoke and potency. Look at a picture of the dried stuff on the dabber.

Have you tried butane hash oil exchange method?
Heres a vid i just looked up, its a decent one. You basically strip the weed of resin slowly...

i love drying it like that. :) it's just a little harder to manage. though if whipping it is as bothersome as it appears i'll just deal with drying it.

am I missing something about ear wax or buddar etc...once you made the hash you whip it into a airy type hash.. why? is this doing something to it? flavor wise, potency wise? is it just an easier to use concentrate?


to the OP... have you tried to add a small drip or 2 of ISO then stirring? not sure what results are trying to get obtained. I know the look.. but is there more to it?

it's just easier to handle when in the "butter" form. that and i simply want to check this off my list. ;)

i haven't tried adding iso to oil yet, but i did think about adding it to some kief. just to see what would happen.

whipping is a pain in the ass. spray and set it seems the easiest method. Just warming it a bit to gather it up seems to work ok. i agree budder is alot easier to deal with. i like to have some of everything around. i havnt gotten into iso yet. i need to learn about it so i can clean my oil rig with the iso then smoke what i get. my oil rig is sooooo coated with oil right now. how do i get it?

Shake shake shake
All resins dissolved in iso
Pour iso into dish
Evaporate iso from resin completely
Enjoy!

When I just do a double boiler and if I don't watch it I get budder without stirring most of the time. I personally try to get shatter consistency so I hate when this happens so I haven't explored how to get budder with this double boiler method.

ok, so I think I need to get the 90% iso correct? And do i evaporate iso the same way as butane? warm water in pyrex on pyrex?

iso is fucking disgusting!!!!!!! also its slightly polar so this means it will extract chloroaphyll as well as other plant waxes..... use extra filterd butane

did you read my post? I want to clean my oil rig. there is no chloraphyll anywhere in sight

i'm in no way trying to start an argument, just trying to understand hopw things work, ... i have made oil with numerous strains. probably at least 20, to take a wild guess. could just as easily be 30 though. been doing it for years now. ;) using bud, trim, kief, hash, ... indicas, sativas, hybrids, ... i always end up with a dark amber oil. under the microscope it's clear and clean. it snaps and shatters, but melts on your fingertip if left there. my biggest issue is it flying everywhere when i scrape it. i don't like using heat in any way so i scrape it at room temp. i make enough that the loss is hardly noticeable anymore.

it is because of the fact that my results are always the same, regardless of strain, that i desire to learn how to do it differently.

the product that you get with no heat is amazing. i dont run enough to be able to lose any, thats why scraping it that way was pretty much impossible for me so i had to add a little heat but when cooled is still amazing.

No heat ftw with the vac chamber of you can. Keep them

I only double boil at friends or ultra small runs.

Also 91% is what I use if I may vape it again. Everclear if I'm just gonna cook With it but sugars make it bad for revaping.

hey fdd i can finally give you some advice,after all the butane evaps off, vacuum purge it, you can make a vacuum pump out of a refrigerator compressor, i always get a consistency between taffy and earwax. peace
