Colorado Dispensary
I moved from Colorado Springs a few years back and I'd like to return. I have extensive knowledge concerning the cultivation of marijuana and I am interested in opening a dispensary. I'm looking for a partner in this business venture that lives in Colorado preferably around the springs with serious interest in opening a legal tax paying medical marijuana dispensary.

won't be able to open a new one until after july and you have to be a resident for 2 years, which would be givin your partner all the power

you would also have to fill out sooo much paperwork, you would think you were buying a house. They want full financial statements. They want to know where you are getting your money. You will need a lawyer just to fill out all the paperwork.

Outstanding, definitely a partner that's been a resident for 2 years. I have no problem paying for and filling out any paperwork. I'm certain the process has been made difficult so that every knucklehead with a few seeds and a buckets can't open garage dispensaries. I've been around the block a few times to say the least and start up won't be the problem (least of which is paperwork). I'm just afraid of federal prosecution. I want to run something as legal as possible that will provide high quality organic hydro. That's it.

you would also be required to grow at least 70% of what you would sell. The other 30% could only be purchased from another licensed dispensary. You also would have to have been in Colorado for the past two years. The State makes it very hard to open a shop. No felonies. No silent partners.

Not to hijack the thread, but what about selling to the dispensaries? Does it require mountains of paperwork too? I've been thinking about this for quite some time, as I used to live in the Springs also, actually Manitou Springs, and I want to move back. I'm really most interested in selling clones and edibles.

they are not allowed to buy from you unless you also own a dispensary. To manufacture/sell edibles you need a license. Thats seperate. That will only cost about $12,000 for that one.

So, you can't sell to a dispensary unless you are a dispensary? Wow, I didn't realize that. What if I don't want to open/run a dispensary, I still have to jump through all the same hoops?
Paperwork aside, what is the cost involved in getting your dispensary license?
Is there a link I can get all this info? I have googled all this crap a couple times before but could never find what I was looking for...

Actually you cant even be a partner or manager without fulfilling the 2 year residency requirement. It's a standard for all key employees.

Wow did not know that. I thought it was only for the main owner. So can you have investors outside of CO as long as it is structured by some type of documented loan?
