I recently did my first grow (indica seeds from some shwagg) and used CFL's, started Veg with 2x42watts and then added/experimented with 1x26watt fullspectrum($26) and another 42 watter($9) for flowering.
I started with 3 plants and killed the male off which left two females and they flowered and finished in 8 weeks. I didn't have them near a window but I think with a little more fresh air things would have gone better, I also sprayed them with carbonated water twice a day which appeared to increase growth once I began that.
I also poisoned them once as well and yellowed the leaves halfway up during the flowering cycle when I added 1/4 quarter strength bloom booster (shultz... not going to do that again).
Also it has been a hotter summer than usual so they spent a lot of days close 90 degrees which affected them as well I believe.

The results are to the left. I got around 29g or just over an ounce for the two plants which were some commercial indica strain.

I was thinking of getting 150watt fullspectrum hood CFL and then adding some others down around. But I've also thought about getting 250 HPS since i have some Seedsman SkunkxHaze coming and I want to make sure I do it right. The first time through was just an experiment.
I thought the full spectrum made a huge difference because when I added it in addition to the 42 watter down below the base of the plant just exploded over two days with lower leaves and branching out.

This has been the most fun project I've done since building forts as a kid and driving around listening to Pink Floyd for the first time after doing bong rippers lol...
