Im gonna get straight to the point, I want to grow A plant, just 1.


I have studied the techniques and such that many people on this forum follow.

I need an experienced person to give me an opinion.

Im going to buy 3 clamp on plug in light fixtures with a maximum of 60 watts.

I plan on buying 3 42 watt 6500K bulbs for the vegetative state, this is close to 10000 lumens total, Im going to make a grow box with reflective material and a fan since Im growing only one plant this should be a pretty good grow (i hope)

for the flowering state I want to get 2 42 watt 2700K bulbs and 1 55 watt bulb, this equals about 10000 lumens. maybe i will get another 1 or 2 bulbs, but right now im not worried about the flowering state might even get all these bulbs later instead of at one time.

now I have heard of and seen with my own eyes people growing good plants with cfls in veg state, Ive only heard of people growing in flowering state with cfls and the results are not that good compared to an hps system which is understandable.

I just have two questions, will the setup i described for the veg state be pretty good, and can someone give me more information about flowering with cfls.

the only thing ive heard about that is, if youre using cfls and your lumens output is considerably less than 10000 dont waste your time, that being said I still want to flower with cfls and I DONT plan on ever getting a hps system.

someone please tell me if Im able to get a plant to grow with a setup like this from veg state all the way until harvest time, help is much appreciated and thanks for reading the post.

hey brandois. well you can definately with that setup imo. right now i have 2 23w 5000k on my single plant and it is doing fine. i plan to get more on it this weekend. as for flowering u can also go with that setup,just get a few more maybe 23w for the sides. won't get as much yeild like with hps. but u can get lights closer and less heat so lumens are closer.jmo

just dont veg for long. keep the plants small.
another thing is you dont add the lumens like that because they are not going to be in the same spot. but the more lights of lower wattage like 23 or so run more eficient and cooler than less lights of higher wattage. there is more lumens to wattage with that. better results.
