okay so i've read through 12 or so pages about growing with cfl's and there are so many different ways i dont really know what i should do. right now i have 1 plant growing on my deck outside my room, and im gonna clone my plant and try to grow the clone inside. So how many cfl lights would i need for 1 plant.....and how many cfls and watts for 5 plants.....o yea my grow space would be really big i would be growing in a room that is 8 feet tall, 6 feet wide and 10 feet long. thx

Bottom line ..more light = more weed = more ...that being said..I vegged 8 seedling at a time with two 26w CFL's.. if you're planning on growing outside, thats all you need..if growing inside more lights are needed.. Try to get as much as you can.. at least some 46w cfls & 26w also..for side light to avoid stretching.. as much and as strong as you can.. cfl... T5, 12 etc are better...HID (MH & HPS) best.. Luck...and stop panic..busy folks....

Being a CFL grower myself I'd say go for it, however the size room your talking about man wouldn't be ideal for CFLs unless of course your going to buy an incredibly large amount of bulbs. For example, my grow space is 40" tall X 25" Wide X 18" Deep and I have roughly 8 26W CFLs in there to grow 2 - 4 plants and will likely need a few more. I hope that helps you to some degree. so whats the deal with lumens i know each light has different lumens but how much do i need to grow weed with thx.

yea cfls have no lux compared man they suck for distance, so you would want to make a small little box like mine (i use 2 rubbermaid tubs) but i would make a little 1.5 ft deep 4ft high and 2.5-3 feet wide and if you use enough cflls (at least 25000 lumens in that area) around your plants at the sides and have teh patience to move them around and reconstruct your box at urgent times and shit, then yea do it up cfls are awesome for breaking you into the indoor world of horticulture
