Does anyone know which lighting cycle would be better for my cfl grow?24/0 or 18/6.I am currently on the 18/6 cycle and I am using 2 105w cfl bulbs their wattage are equivulant to 1000 watts put together.

It wouldnt matter people say that the plants only absorb 18hours off light whilst others say they absorb more. But i would just stick to 18/6 to save electricity bill and also thats what i did but its up 2 u!

i go 24/0 cause you will b smoking your buds 1 or 2 weeks faster........ so it costs the same id say

along with this post im looking to switch from 24 to 18 whats the best way to go about doing that?

change your timer to 18/6 and there u go..

You'll get different opinions..I tried the 24 thing, but sleep became a problen, so I went to 18/6.. Bottom line... more light = more pot, that being said 18/6 works....

Cool thanks everybody...I think i will stick with 18/6 for another month then 12/12.

i took a botany class and i remember that plants need the hours of darkness to get the best nutrient ciculation, so 18/6 is the way to go

It all comes down to the age of the plant.

seedlings do great under 24/7 because they don't have a dark photosynthesis cycle.

when plants are getting bigger, they'll probably actually grow faster with 18/6 because there is a dark growth cycle that more mature plants have. I think it actually gears them up for the 12/12 that lay ahead.
