Stopped by Lowes the other day and picked up the following:

$14= 2 X 30 gal Rubbermaid tubs
$10= 1 X 3 bulb chrom bathroom light fixture
$5= 2 x Twin light socket (Y connectors for light bulbs)
$50= 5 x 150W equiv 2700 Lumens CFL's
$9= 1 x plastic duct

Miscellaneous pieces are an extension chord (to splice for light fixture), duct tape (can not stress the importance of this), electrical tape, 60 mm 12V fan for a computer, old PC power supply or cell phone charger (for fan), sawz all, mylar.

I currently have two White Widow clones in there, sitting on a cardboard box to get them closer to the light. I placed the exhaust fan on the top left, and the intake hole on the bottom right. The negative pressure is perfect and if you put your hand near the intake hole you can feel it getting pulled in.

Oh yah, currently the the plants are in 1 Gal. milk jugs using Miracle Grow. Also the power supply for the fans is not actually sitting on the floor, the pic was just taken before the Elephant Box was moved into the closet.
Lets just say that giving them nutes during veg with miracle grow is not the best idea - yellowed osme of the leaves, but they are back to normal after a quick flush and transplant.
Does anyone have a good source for PRO MIX??
Also any pointers as to when to start flowering with this setup? I was thinking of going for 2 weeks veg then 8 weeks flower.

are you running a whole computer power supply for your fans? if so you should just get an ac/dc adaptor and splice the wires

Yes, but this grow box is going in the main room. It is just a little experiment we are running. The power supply will be used to aid the exhaust fans in the main room as well.

Yes, the name Elephant Box came to me midst taking a massive bong toke. Anyways, not too sure whether we want to continue to use the box to grow start to finish, or just transform it into a veg. chamber for the clones.

Nice project! Im working on just like it myself, except its bigger and i'll be using 6 lights, 5 clones.

Also, I was wondering, how do open the box if it has tape around the edges.

the box is not taped shut around the edges. Instead what I did was place numerous layers of duct tape on the rims of the tubs so that they semi-seal shut, and it provides friction in case the thing gets knocked or something. The power supply is an ATX power supply, and we just jumped the green wire to any black wire on the ATX connector so it only supplies power needed for fans.
