I have been working on an LED light experiment. I have a preliminary idea that I made a diagram and was looking at getting some feedback. As it stands right now, I do not see this working as it is. There are some issues with the construction of the LEDs that I need to get figured out first. But what I am looking for is input on the actual distribution of the light itself, as in do you think it would provide an even coverage. As you will see in the image the different colors. This is to represent certain peaks in the color spectrum. I tried to get as close as I could to what the color would be, but it was tough doing that and also keeping it so that it is visually distinctive in the spectrum. So, keep that in mind, but like I said, I am looking for input mainly for an even distribution of the light. Also, I have taken into account that the spectrums I am trying to represent here are in the 420nm - 660nm range.

but man ... leds just dont cut it , u better go with cfls or even better, a hid

Yes, I am very aware that LEDS do not cut it right now. That is why I am trying to find out "why" they dont cut it.

why ? ... probably bcus thay aren't intense enoughe and sux at penetrate
its abit like the discussion of if the lumens adds up , its not a good idea to grow with a bunch of 7w cfl its better to have fewer with higher wattage so u get higher lumens, so the same should applies to LEDs
but i have never tryed leds so i may be wrong and i shurley hope so bcus it would be awesome if it could work

led grow lights from Sunshine Systems. We have an LED grow light for you.

there are a few videos on youtube of led grows. From what I have read it should be one blue led for every 10 reds but how knows thats what experiments are for. I have thought about stringing LEDs on the branches of my plant right next to the buds since they dont put off hardly any heat.

From what I have been able to tell on all the LED lights so far is they are generally the wrong spectrum or not enough. I contacted two of the larger places that sell the LED grow lights, and they could not give me much info about their product. When I asked them what the nanometer frequency was, about the best answer they could give me is "red and blue"(great way to sell a product). Which is probably why the consensus is that LED lights are a piece of shit. Also, from what I can tell, they also use just use two frequencies, one blue and one red. It looks as if they use a very narrow band as well. In my idea, I am using six different colors(I would use more if I could find them), the blues will range 420-470 and the reds will be 610-660. So, I dont know. I know LEDs have the ability and I want to use them. If I cant buy one that will do the job, I will do everything in my power to make one that works myself.
