Stealth Box CFL Grow Journal (PICS)

Hey all! Just wanted to show everyone our newest set-up, a stealth-box we made. Everything's straight from wal-mart, and it was super easy. Here are some pics. We planted these little girls in our main grow room while our stealth-box was under construction. Since our grow room is switching to the flowering cycle for our older plants, we decided to make the grow box for our vegetating plants.

Let us know what you think! Here's the pics:

#1, 2, 3: Construction phase of the stealth box. We have 4 26W CFLs and mylar over the whole inside. We also cut holes for 2 intakes and 1 exhaust. Temps are good.
#4: The completed box glowing in the closet.
#5 - 11: Pics of our new seedlings in their new home.

We'll keep you updated throughout life in the box, and then the main growroom. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated!! :joint:

Very nice man. Looks great! I didn't know that those plug-in Y CFLs existed. Keep us posted on how the little babies turn out.

Its actually a two piece setup. The Y's are plugged into another piece then into the surge. Goto home depot and check them out. I will keep ya updated.

Hi all! Here's an update on our stealth box grow! It's day 6, and our seedlings are doing well. With the exception of a possible mutant, everything is great!

A question - When transplanting a jiffy pot, should we just drop the whole thing in a bigger pot of soil, or should we take the plant OUT of the jiffy pot and replant it in soil?

We're going to need to transplant soon, so answers would be appreciated! Check out our pics below:

#1: An outside view of the stealth box
#2: Seedling #1
#3: Seedling #2, one of the better ones!
#4: The mutant seedling... you think so too?
#5: Seedling #3
#6: The biggest seedling

Hey Butthead, Looking good when doing a transplant with clones in jiffy pellets just move the whole thing into the new pot. I recently had to do 3 transplants from jiffy pellets / soil to my hydro system and I can promise you that the roots are probably out of the jiffy pellet and into the surrounding soil. Any attempt to remove the jiffy pellet is possible but you will cause some root damage in the process. I think my poor clones are still trying to recover from the severe damage from being removed from that growing medium. Only other advice is more light if / when possible, I have about 7k lux in my setup and still looking to upgrade to a proper HPS / MH duak support ballast.

I'm not a big fan of "tub grows" but it looks like you have put allot of thought into it so I'll be taking a back seat on this one too =]

Only thing I can suggest right now is to get some more mylar and line all the inside of your tubs.

As for your mutant... looks like it's leaves are weird, but chances are the new growth would be normal.

Oh and lastly......... have you thought of making a grow "cab"? I think you will get better results if you applied your efforts in a cab, and it truelly would be stealth =]
