ive got 10 3-4 day old seedlings and the cfls are about 4-5 inches away, should I move them closer?

thats cool .. as long as they are close ...

move the lights as close as possible, then put ure hand under the light and check if its too hot. But the closer the better. Just don't burn em

yea like 2 inches man. the closer the better. like stilltokin said, put your hand right above your plant and if u feel heat then the light is too close.

alright thanks, but yea in the day it can be 90f in my room so i dont think ill be able to put them too close

Inch and a half seems fine if the lights are stable. I would think even at a room temp of 90 it won't make the lights much hotter to plants. A fan really helps though and doesn't have to be too strong to make a difference.

my vey room is around 90 - 95 all the time, i have my cfl 1/2 - 1 inch away from my plants, but i have a fan blowing at my bulbs, so that stop's any burning
