new here, so here goes. i'm working with a narrow broom closet. about 26"x26"x8', using a sunblaze 24" four light T5 light @6500k and approx 8000 lumens. my goal is to set up in two sections top for clone/veg and bottom for flower which i'll be using the same light setup at 3500k. this is my first grow, i'm having a bit of a stretching issue right now, but i think it's going to be ok.

my questions are this, how small can i go for pots if my desired height is around 3 -4feet? i'm using soil. i want to have around 8 plants, harvesting every 2 months, is this feasible?

either i'm doing something right or no one wants to say anything.

lower the light to a few inches above the leaves.

You can easily use 20oz pop bottles cut down to 16oz.
It takes watering every 2-3 days but you can grow 2-3 foot plants to harvest easy in a 16oz plastic bottle.

You could ALSO start a clone mom and make it a perpetual sog.
Putting 4 clones in every week and after 9 weeks harvest 4 plants every week.
You would have 36 plants in there when you are fully up to speed.
You typically want clones in a SOG so growth rate is consistant across all plants.

Something to think about.

here's some more shots from today. staked and tied a few today to help some weak stalks, added soil as well to shorten them. any comments? how are they looking, this is my first grow so any help is appreciated. it's bagseed from supposedly a northern lights/purple nurple cross, so we'll see how it goes. seems like three of them came through the door swingin' and the other three are lagging a bit.

I think using T5's for a shelf system SoG is a great idea. I don't think thereis a better option out there . The things is , you can always add another shelf if you want to since you will be growing short clones . cheap and effective.

I am really thinking about forgoing the 600w hps and getting 2 more 4' 6 tube T5's and making a 3 shelf closet grow and just keep mothers and veg in tent. I would get 8 tube but the only place I can find them is grow stores. The only reason I don't want to do this is the amount of plants. You can only have so many plants when growing medical for personal and I would have to have like 60 plants to maximize the potential (and you know you have to).

Anyways, T5's are the best way to maximize yield per square foot if you do it right.

I just saw the 3' - 4' plants. It is a bad idea with T5' s. The light just doesn't penetrate past the first foot or so. I have to use CFL's all around the plants and from the bottom and they are only like 2' with a lot of bending.

i plan on flowering them at about a foot or so, i'm pretty sure the setup will hold em. gave 'em a little superthrive today as well. i'll be cloning all of them and tossing the male clones after i sex them, and hopefully i'll be able to keep a year round cycle. the T5's are pretty much my only option due to space and heat issues they seem to be working out, but i may need to add some side lights. hope it comes out as good as the original sack i got the beans from. watering with spring water too btw.

i swear they grow about every hour right now.
